Sacred Places Of Refuge

by Deanne Robison, Sacred Places Of Refuge Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Sacred Places Of Refuge books, The scriptures contain over forty prophesies regarding the latter day restoration of the gospel in America and the second coming of the Savior. There is no need to "spin" these prophecies, they are actually very clear. As of this date, all but five of them have been fulfilled and the remaining five are eminent. In the October 2013 Ensign, President Monson made it clear that with the missionary surge, we have now entered the "hastening of the work" prophecy contained in Doctrine and Covenants 88: 73. The ensuing verses (74 - 91) graphically describe the next event, known as "the fulfillment of the day of the gentiles." This will be a time when the world continues to destabilize, resulting in the missionaries being called home and the judgements of God immediately fall upon the wicked world. These verses describe devastating earth quakes, tempests, tsunamis and mass destruction. Other scriptures call this "The Day of the Lord," "The Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord" and/or "The Cleansing." On the day of 9/11, President Hinckley proclaimed ..".the earth will be cleansed and there will be indescribable distress." What is to become of the righteous during this period? Throughout history, the Lord's pattern has been to move his covenant people to places of refuge (i.e. Abraham, the children of Israel, the Brother of Jared, Lehi's family and the pioneer saints). The scriptures are replete with revelations regarding "fleeing to the mountains." While this certainly refers to the multiple meanings of the saints fleeing to the Rocky Mountains and to the temples, visions given to Brigham Young and John Taylor add another level of meaning as they saw people fleeing to the "tops of the mountains" to escape the destruction. In this regard, the Rocky Mountains are truly unique. Not only are they a tremendous fortress and a beautiful sanctuary, but they have plentiful resources and represent the only large area of habitable land in America that has not been populated...all located adjacent to the world headquarters of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. This is not a coincidence. Our dear leaders have counseled us to face the uncertain future with faith rather than fear. The apostle Paul taught us that "faith without works is dead." In addition to confirming the prophecies, Sacred Places of Refuge provides the "works" of conducting a resource assessment of the Rockies, reviewing community organizational strategies, identifying equipment and subsistence skills that will be needed and goes as far as providing checklists and packing lists. Working in conjunction with the Heartland Farms website, this book provides the foundation for creating a "virtual community" of righteous and joyful people equipped to accomplish whatever the Lord would have us do in preparing for the coming cleansing, followed by building the New Jerusalem and ushering in of the second coming of our Lord and Savior.

Sacred Places Of Refuge Ii

by Roland Robison, Sacred Places Of Refuge Ii Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Sacred Places Of Refuge Ii books, This updated edition of Sacred Places of Refuge addresses the rapidly widening gulf between the timeless truths of the Kingdom of God and the accelerating depravity and deterioration of the world. It also expands on life skills that will be necessary when prophesied conditions become a reality. Despite denial from many caught up in the world's status quo, the scriptures make it clear that "The Great and Dreadful Day of the Lord" is on our doorstep. Nobody knows exactly when it will or will not occur. In Mathew 24: 36 the Savior tells us, "But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only." Various other scriptures tell us that it will come "as a thief in the night." The best indication we have is in D&C 88: 73- 95, which makes it clear that it will come immediately after the fulfillment of the prophecy on the hastening of the work. The brethren have made it clear that this prophecy was fulfilled with the 2013 surge in missionary work. Hence, it only seems logical that those who purport to believe in the prophecies would be teaching and preparing their families. The number of sincere students of the prophecies is growing as latter day prophecies draw ever closer. Our objective continues to be banding together as people of the Lord, ready to take direction from our inspired leaders as the Lord sees fit to reveal it. In the meantime, we stand humbly and obediently prepared to the best of our ability for whatever challenges lie ahead.

Showdown In The Sonoran Desert

by Ananda Rose, Showdown In The Sonoran Desert Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Showdown In The Sonoran Desert books, This book offers reflections on a daunting and controversial ethical question: How should we treat the strangers who enter this country illegally? To understand the experience of those directly confronted by this problem, Ananda Rose traveled to the Sonoran desert at the border between the U.S. and Mexico. There she gathered opinions from Minutemen, Border Patrol agents, Catholic nuns, humanitarian air workers, left-wing protestors, ranchers, and other ordinary citizens in southern Arizona. She depicts the results of these interviews as two starkly opposed ideological perspectives: that of religious activists who embrace a biblically-inspired model of hospitality that stresses love of strangers and a "borderless" compassion; and that of law enforcement, which is concerned with safety, security, and strict respect for international borders.

Mountains Physical Human Environmental And Sociocultural Dynamics

by Mark A. Fonstad, Mountains Physical Human Environmental And Sociocultural Dynamics Books available in PDF, EPUB, Mobi Format. Download Mountains Physical Human Environmental And Sociocultural Dynamics books, Mountains have captured the interests and passions of people for thousands of years. Today, millions of people live within mountain regions, and mountain regions are often areas of accelerated environmental change. This edited volume highlights new understanding of mountain environments and mountain peoples around the world. The understanding of mountain environments and peoples has been a focus of individual researchers for centuries; more recently the interest in mountain regions among researchers has been growing rapidly. The articles contained within are from a wide spectrum of researchers from different parts of the world who address physical, political, theoretical, social, empirical, environmental, methodological, and economic issues focused on the geography of mountains and their inhabitants. The articles in this special issue are organized into three themed sections with very loose boundaries between themes: (1) physical dynamics of mountain environments, (2) coupled human–physical dynamics, and (3) sociocultural dynamics in mountain regions. This book was first published as a special issue of the Annals of the American Association of Geographers.
